Hotdogs, Franks, whatever. They love them in Sweden, Denmark and Normay. And I do not mean big sausages like Germany, I mean hotdogs. Usually served in these cool tube buns with mayo, mustard or curry ketchup. Also try the hotdog served with mashed potatoes.

I am not kidding, you will be so sick of hotdogs by the end of the trip becuase in Sweden, restaurants are somewhat scarce compared to the USA or the rest of Europe and the only thing open after 20:00 are the hotdog stands in gas stations. Of course things are different in Stockholm, but in other parts of Sweden it is kinda hard to find a meal at night. Lunch is fantastic though as many places have all inclusive buffet style lunch with very good food; especially fish and meatloaf!

If you have the time to rent a Saab, do it. Avis has 9-5 and 9-3's at the Stockhokm airport. You will really appreciate the Saab turbo engine when you start passing slow moving semi trucks on the two lane roads that cross Sweden. If go to Trollhatten, then you should try to make it to the West coast. From there, drive North along the coast. You can Island hop by bridge and small ferry and you will see breathtaking scenerey. When you are almost to Norway, you will pass over a huge fiord by bridge that is worth the drive. Slow down when you get to Norway as there are speed cameras every 1 km on the side of the road in little white boxes.

Have fun, but once again there is only about 1 hours worth of sight seeing in Trolhatten after a 5 hour drive!

-Doug
