Toledo is not a great place to go for tourism. But it certainly is a better place to live than Wolfsburg Germany. Wolfsburg is located at the end of a road (dead end) that runs from the freeeway between Hanover and Berlin. It was developed by the Germans to manufacture war material and was therefore bombed flat. It was rebuilt in the bad 1950-1970's European socialist style. It is a somber place and in my opinon one of the least appealing places in Europe. The VW Autostadt is pretty nice, but that will only entertain you for 1 hour maximum.
Toledo Ohio, on the other hand, was a succesful industrial city for many years. It had it's hard times like many US industrial cities, but it also has some very nice places to live especially in the Western cities.
Toledo Spain, was a beautiful historical city near Madrid, but is now destroyed by college kids and horrible anarchist graffiti on every outdoor wall. Not a nice place to live and not so nice to visit anymore.
I was just ranting about car towns since I go to a lot of those places for work, so please keep my comments in context.
