They're definitely overlooked and undervalued for what they are, and with all Porches getting stupid expensive it's hard to imagine their values not going up. My brother had one and loved how it drove, but sold it at the first sign of those famous electrical gremlins. I'm sure they're a quality built car, but the wiring is very complex and prone to intermittent faults, which are the worst kind, and everything on the car is expensive and difficult to work on. If you've got a local guy who really knows 928s and/or plan to do at least some of the wrenching yourself, go for it, I'm sure you'll enjoy the car, but I think there's a reason you see lot of them mothballed on CL for a couple grand and it's that the value proposition can be a little tough.
