My suspicion is that the Corvette now exists in a weird null space where it's trapped between VERY competent sedans and coupes and truly aspirational/image brands. I like and respect the C7 - it's good looking and supremely confident - but I can't envision the scenario where I'd own one. Sign me up for a GT350 or a Cayman or an M3. The real-world performance difference is nil, and I'm not even remotely awesome enough to derive any on-track advantage. I think Corvette was attractive when it was "real good for real cheap" - now it's crowded at the bottom by pony cars and not fancy enough (I'm talking image, not chops) to play with Germans and Italians.
