Fair question, we've found the cargo ability in the V60 to be much better than the S60. The trunk in the S60 is somewhat small, a little less than the 9-5. It's fine for most things, but not the traditional Saab utility. The V60 is much more Saab like in this sense - I no longer fire up my 900T hatch for most hauling duties as the V60 is a bit wider and just a touch shorter for cargo. Just the other day I threw a six foot ladder and gas pressure washer in back with room to spare. My wife who had previously had a 9000, then two 9-5's got the S60 sedan. After driving it for a year, I liked the way the car drove so much I went and got the V60. If I only had one, I'd opt for the V60 for the improved utility in almost all situations. We went for the sports package in both - gives it sports/deep bucket seats and tuned suspension/wheels. With these, the handling is impressive at any reasonable speed, and with the seats these are great highway cars. However, the ride is on the firm side, which with AZ roads is fine, but if your roads are rough - be sure to test it first, I suspect it would be downright harsh on bad roads.
Best of luck on your search, if you have any AZ travels you're welcome to come by and take both for a drive.
Take care,
Scott
