Using Techron is what I suggested to your question on other cars board.
It can't get worse and it might solve your problems.

I guess it is not as common with failing fuel injectors on these cars since none of my suppliers have one for a 2001 and up, and only one supplier have one for a 2000.

Part number for a 2001 S40 US spec car fuel injector is 6900371 $149.34
