The other day I am driving on a curvy, fun road. Going with my family to visit some friends. Coming up to a really fun curve, I am anticipating how amazing my car will feel as I shift down to second gear and the big V-8 starts to sing. Suddenly, a Honda CR-V comes into view from the opposite direction. Tires folded over in full steering lock, understeering into my (opposite) lane. He was not going fast, maybe 30 mph. That saved him because he would have rolled the wagon for sure if he caught the edge of the pavement on my side. I do a full emergency brake, my two little kids are suspended by their 5-point child seat harnesses, my wife does not have time to get too scared in the passenger seat. Thankfully, the Pilot Sports are already fully warmed up, so I am able to leave plenty of room for the CR-V driver. The kid in the CR-V recovers and finally drives onto his side of the road. The CR-V is full of teenage boys. I wipe my brow and think to myself that getting a CUV for a teenager is probably not a good idea.
As they say, YMMV...
