You can certainly create additional engine BHP with any compressor but we find the question is always relative to future BHP growth. Very rarely do we find 900 enthusiasts able to stay at current engine output levels and a majority have future plans for additional engine modifications. An example to use is our work with a local 900 customer who used a 60 T3 Garrett turbocharger to make 225 BHP but accomplished additional engine modifications (camshafts, cylinder head) over the next year to 276 BHP and was now outside peak efficiency with the T3 turbocharger now lowered to 70%. Installation of the 54 T4 compressor wheel added 4 engine BHP which was now peaking at 78% efficiency. If we can find a 900 owner able to stay at 250 BHP and without the plan for future engine upgrades, we typically opt for the T4 S Garrett compressor wheel since the "Super 60" T3 is not available through Garrett as this is a TURBONETICS private label.
