Actually with a Big 16G or even an EVOX 16G compressor wheel you can achieve some decent top end however the TE05's limitations are in it's 6CM2 (=.41 A/R) turbine housing which creates high exhaust gas temps when looking for 300 + HP. I'm just finishing up two T3's for Classic 900's and one of them is replacing a TE05-12B. This particular customer liked the somewhat unusual T3 we did years ago for his other C-900 so he wanted another one like it with the faster spooling extended tip turbine wheel I use. This wheel also has the closest exducer clearance that's safe to run in a standard diameter T3 housing so it's way more efficient than the stock T3 setup that has almost 3 times the radial exducer clearance than my combo has.
