my viggen has 130K miles on about a 430HP tune and the GT3071R gave it up on my way down to NC to pick my son up yesterday :-( just stopped suddeenly ... no noise or warning of any kind...like a potatoe in the tailpipe.... I pulled an intercooler hose, unhooked the wastegate and unplugged the MAF and it ran home great as an NA viggen :-) I think Im going to a journal bearing turbo now .... a garret or a holset.... the garret I would try to use the housings from the GT3071R turbo and put in a center section using a large T3/4 or a strait T4something bigger then a T04E
on the holset Im thinking HX35 or HX40
Ive allways run 15/40 dinosour oil and I think the BB turbo held up pretty well considering the abuse it took from myself and Carl.. the guy I built it for
when I get the turbo off and apart Ill post pics of the carnage
take care
JAK
