|Performance Bulletin Board|
It looks like that is a Catco 4089 which is probably a perfectly good "stock replacement" cat, but not a performance part. I will say that for what it is, it's darn cheap!
If performance is what you want, you have some $$, and keeping the car 100% stock-like for emissions testing is not necessary, I'd suggest doing something like what I have on my car:
It took some work to create but it's a really nice setup. At the front there's a JT 3" downpipe, a 3" flex, a 3" generic performance cat, then a long tapered reducer to 2.5" pipe. Behind that is the 2.5" sport exhaust from GenuineSaab.com: Click Here
The cat has been moved back to the location where it was on the older cars, so it's not under the pan baking the oil. The pipe after the cat has a bung for the rear O2 sensor, which needs its wires extended of course because it's farther back too.
'90 Audi 80 quattro (modded to death), '12 Audi A4 quattro (stock for now)
Gone but not forgotten:
'72 99, '77 99 (became a turbo, twice)
'80 900T 5-door, '81 900T, '86 900S (became a turbo), '86 900 SPG
'86 9000, '97 9000 Aero
A bunch of Audis, '69 Firebird, '64 Toyota Corona (first car, cost $35 and worth every penny)
Be alert... America needs more lerts!
