flex-pipe/down-pipe/converter, continued.....

I have been away from my computers for a few days, the last thread left the
board.
Sorry Bob, we will have to get together soon, I got my VDO gauge at http://www.egauges.com for about $29.
The exhaust on my '95 has the down-pipe, with a welded-in cat converter,
followed by a flange. Attached to the flange is the flex-pipe, intermediate
pipe section also with a flange, then connected to the 2.5" Saber system
I looked at the JT down-pipe on BSR's site. It has the flex-pipe as part of the
down-pipe. To use this down-pipe I would have to get a 3" cat converter. some 3" pipe, a 3"-to-2,5" reducer, and a flange to fabricate the connection
to the Saber system.
What if I connected the down-pipe to a 3"-to-2,5" reducer, then to my existing cat?
How much performance loss would there be using the 2,5" cat?
The other point to consider, my existing set-up lets my Aero produce around
245 HP. Do I really want to add more power to get transmitted through
my already stressed auto-box?
