"...though I suspect the Viggen would be a trifle too hot for comfort even on a race track." (???)
Has this guy ever been in a race car? I haven't, but the descriptions I've read suggest that there is little else which doesn't have wings that can make you look forward to when it's over (feels so good when I stop). I remember a description of riding in a LeMans Mercedes. The braking, for one, felt like they were throwing out an anchor, and the suspension was rock solid. Comfort is not even a consideration on the race track. Perhaps this journalist should take two seconds out of his life to look at the seat in a race car and see how well it's padded. Also, his criticism of the Viggen is harsher than just about any other journalist, so just like any other outlying data, discard it.
