I call it the "Viggen Dance"

After reading endless posts on torque steer and getting the scoop from the VFA I just call it the Viggen Dance. Hard acceleration on all but the smoothest road surfaces sends the front tires searching for something resembling traction. I'd spend $1k to reduce it 50%, who knows maybe the combination of rescue kit and new tires will do the trick (BTW you may be right on the tires, I was going off an old post I printed out for future reference).
I seriously considered an A4 and they have similar shifter performance. A number of the A4 enthusiasts (http://www.audiworld.com - a great site for Audi fans) tried different tranny oils with mixed and inconsistent success. I agree the shifter does move around a lot but I guess I've just gotten used to it. I've yet to miss a gear and I've never ground one.
On the door pulls - I remember reading a post about them, have you tried a search? I haven't seen them in any adds and the only redeeming feature of the plastic ones is they hide dirt.
Oh - one last comment on the tires. I have 16" snows and I don't feel any improvement in traction under hard acceleration - still does the "Viggen Dance".
