In a desperate attempt to get more uummppphh out of my 9000s non-turbo, I did a free flow cat and stainless exhaust. The cat came from a company called Random Technologies. Their web site is http://www.randomtechnology.com Although they don't do a lot of work with Saab, or at least they don't list it on the site, I called them and they faxed me their understanding of the proper measurements. Since it was custom made, they wanted me to confirm that it was correct, so I spent a few minutes under the car. Their measurements were spot-on. The unit itself fit quite nicely, and it supposed to reduce back-pressure by 80%. Since I did other mods at the same time, it was hard to tell what was making the difference in hp. The unit cost just under $200. The other option might be to go to your local muffler shop. A company called Carsound (no info on them) makes a universal fit unit that would have to be welded together with the right pipes on either end. I am not certain, but I would think that after having a muffler jockey spend an hour or so welding up some pipes, the cost would be getting close to $200....but its worth a question as I have been wrong before.
