I just use standard American size hoses. You know that the engine is a German Ford and the fittings on it are metric.
Just had a look at your blog. Very nice looking Sonett! Keep asking questions- there are many people here that will be happy to help you!
One thing- make sure you drain your gearbox and have a good look at what comes out. These tend to be the weak link. If there isn't any metal particles, be thankful! Refill with 2 quarts of either Redline MTL or Castrol Synthetic gear lube. Note that the drain plug can be a real bear- a steel plug in an aluminum housing plus 35 years of time... The stupid plugs sometimes have a crossbar. You can make a tool for removal by cutting a notch across a socket. Use a breakerbar and insert the socket in the plug. Then use a floor jack to press up on the breakerbar/socket- put alot of pressure on it, say your prayers, live a good clean life, and MAYBE it will come loose!!
