Not only are they totally different cars, but totally different approaches. The 900T is sophisticated and emphasizes all-around performance. The Sonett is basic, spartan and emphasizes responsiveness. It's more for someone who's looking for the "straight, unfiltered flavor" of car-ness.
A Sonett's acceleration/braking/cornering numbers might not be as high as a 900T's or many other modern cars', and it's certainly not as comfortable (although it's not at all UNcomfortable, especially compared to many other sports cars of the era.) The thing is that with the Sonett, you really know you are *driving* the car. The steering is weighty, the brakes take a firm push, and when you make something happen, it happens NOW.
I wouldn't want one as my only car (although people have and still do use them that way) but it's a very bracing alternative!
