StephenB, greetings from Canada!
I confirm Eric's info on the rear springs being
- 7 1/2 coils of 0.4 inch (10.0mm) wire diameter
- total length of 12.5 inch
- max spring expansion of 5.9 inch
Stephen, for the front (as per Factory Sonett manual) the springs are:
- 8 1/2 coils of 0.47 inch (12.0mm) wire diameter
- total length of 13.4 inch
- max spring expansion of 5.5 inch
These cars sit very low and after 36+ years the springs have lost some of their original height. I would suggest having a shop that can manufacture coil springs to make what you need as you will most likely end up with the same problem if you replace what you have with used OEM springs. I had new front springs made up 20+ years ago. Be careful to make sure you use the correct type of spring compressor as the removing them can be very dangerous.
I can send you photo/scan copies of the Sonett III specifications if the inspector would like to confirm the above info.
