I'm assuming this is the nut on the fuel line? Throw that crescent wrench in the pond and get yourself a flare nut wrench of the right size, I'm gonna guess 1/2" or 9/16" but don't remember for sure. Crescents are excellent for their designed purpose, which is to round the corners off nuts.
There are much better penetrants than WD-40, such as PB Blaster. Apply a few times over several hours, give it time to work.
