Need new info plz on this old thread.
I emailed my specs to coilsprings.com & they are asking for "load at load height" data and "rate" specifications and whether 8.5 coils up front was "active coil" or "total coil" and if they could have the other data as well. Anybody have this experience or know the answers?
I was planning on cutting the fronts down to use on the rears as suggested but was wondering how much to cut off? And what ride height increase above the OEM 1974 ride height should I expect with replacing 40 yr old rear 10mm springs with 40yr old 12mm springs?
Btw I didn't think them old front springs would raise the rears above the OEM ride height very much so rather than the recommended 14mm steel up front which would raise the front too much & cause a much stiffer ride, I asked coilsprings.com for 1/2" steel coils (which comes out to 12.7mm) and I also asked for an inner diameter of 89mm to account for the thicker steel.
Coilsprings.com sure is asking for a lot of data but at $411 for 4 New front springs (2 sonetts) and their propensity to over-engineer a great spring I can't complain.
