Guys,
I need to remove my worn out CV joint from the steering knuckle. According to my manual I just need to apply pressure to the CV joint and CV joint and drive shaft will come out from the back of the steering knuckle. I have not done this before and I do not want to damage any parts of the assembly.
My questions are
1. If I apply pressure to the CV joint, will I not break or damage the nut, the contact bearing and the two shaft seal from the steering knuckle?
2. Can I use my three-jaw puller to apply pressure to the CV joint or do I need to have a special tool to remove the CV joint from the steering knuckle housing? Please see picture.

Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks for all the help.
