Not very much difference, as far as I can tell. All 5 years of Sonett III used a FoMoCo Model 9510 carb. There were differences in some of the prefixes/suffixes, but I don't know what they mean. For example:
- 1970 used a TW-9510-AA
- 1971 used a TW-9510-LA
- 1972 used a TF-9510-KEA
- 1973-74 used a TF-9510-KEA
You can search around and see if you can come up with differences, but I think they are essentially the same. Note that they are also referred to as "Autolite" in the Sonett III manual.
I do know that a 1970 had a slightly larger main jet (150) vs the later models that used a 140. And as you probably know, the main jet is the only one that's changeable on these.
I did run across an old note on Tom Donney's site (not written by him) that said that '69 and '70 were the worst years for the Ford/Autolite carb. Not sure why.
