I'm in the process of the exact same job on my 74 Sonett. My car also had a horrible judder due to a crack in the input shaft seal and in result an oiled clutch. When I split the trans from the engine, I was suprised how much runout the input shaft had. I gave Jack a call and he explained that it was normal. He also said to leave the pilot bushing alone unless the car has a lot of miles. Mine has 50k.
Good luck! The clutch is an ugly job in this car. Mine is also getting a reseal. Everything on the front of my engine leaks.
