Yes, kansas, it is made to be a duplicate of the original....just the strip and a bent handle at the top. Glad to hear it is supposed to go in all the way until it hits that stop where the handle bends. I guess like you said it is tricky to get it in and I just did not find the exact right way yet to get it to clear everything and go all the way in.
Since I just changed the tranny oil with Red Line MTL, I am not worried at the moment about the level not being right. I just want to know for the future on how to correctly insert the dipstick to get good readings in the future.
