Sonett stalling issues - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I have a 1974 Sonett 3 that has pretty much been trouble free until recently. While it is hot in AZ, I have driven for many years in AZ without any hiccups or issues at all. Recently in the last few months it stalled on me twice. I thought it was the fuel pump--which is electric, so i changed that and the fuel filter this past weekend. Everything went as planned and the new pump is exactly like the one that came out of the car. The problem is that after starting the car and driving a round the neighborhood the car slowly, steadily loses RPM at idle, when coming to a stop. Initial start idles nicely drives nicely and then after a few moment of driving the RPM drops and then finally stalls. There is plenty of gas getting to the carb which I verified by disconnecting the fuel line carb inlet and turned the key--good flow there. I would appreciate any help or direction on where to go next; I have never had these issues with the car. I should mention that I have the weber 2bbl with the two barrel manifold, stock cam, pertronix ignition. thanks for the help.
