thanks for the replies and the suggestions. I am in the East Valley, Gilbert. The 2bbl carb I have (36/32DGV5A, IIRC) doesn't have a solenoid on it--at least I do not see any wires going to it. it has manual choke I think I'll start by taking the carb apart and seeing what I find. I'll be as careful as possible and avoid dropping parts into the throat or manifold. such would be poor form. Please let me know if there are any other ideas.
