Re: Sonett stalling issues (solution) - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Since asking the question about the stalling issue I described I think I found the issue and solved it. The root cause of the problem was a vacuum leak. On the under side of the vacuum hose at the base of the passenger side of the carb on the that snaked to the front of the engine existed a good size hole--a missing chunk--in the silicone tubing. I finished cleaning the carb which really was fairly clean without any varnish and I replaced all vacuum lines. I adjusted the mixture and idle a bit since I monkeyed with it last week and drove it around all weekend without any stalling and smooth performance. If you have experienced this don;t forget about the vacuum lines!
