|Sonett Bulletin Board|
Have not had a Sonett that long, but have messed with old cars for a long time, and tires is tires. I am cheap too, but aware of the safety issues, for a while there seemed like a 5 year recommendation was floating around out there, that seems a little extreme to me. But ten to twelve years may be pushing it, if you drive slow to the show and shine and ice cream on Sundays, and they are not age checked maybe ok, but high performance or high speed may be time to replace. Even short of catastrophic failure rubber age hardens, your panic braking and cornering ability will be reduced too.
