Just bought a Pertronix 91847V kit for my '73 Sonnet. Digging into this "no-brainer" installation I find the distributor plate provided is not a fit. There is only one screw holding down the original plate and a connection to the vacuum advance that Pertronix doesn't have. The grommet for the wires is nothing like what this distributor uses. There is a blue Ford emblem on the side of the distributor so I'm wondering if it isn't a Bosch, but it looks the same as the one in the V4 Workshop Manual. Maybe I need to disassemble the current plate to understand how to install. The instructions say nothing about what to do with the vacuum advance. Is that no longer needed?
