Nevermind, I got it. As I suspected once I took a good look it was obvious what you meant. Luckily the bolt holding the slave on had two washers on it already, one thin and one 1/16". I just moved the 1/16" one to the other side of the bracket on the transaxle and voila! The clutch disc is now making a little noise when it releases, but I think that's just an indication I need to re-adjust the free play since the slave is now closer in to the push rod. But yeah, that completely took away the poor release problem and it shifts into reverse and first cleanly now with the clutch pedal pushed. You're the best!
