Front license plate? Posted by Trogdor42 [Email] (#2494) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Trogdor42) on Wed, 3 Apr 2019 11:06:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Okay, this may seem like a small item, but since my dad's car (now mine) has moved from Florida where front license plates are not required to Illinois where they are, I have a quandary. This car has never had a front plate bracket. Is there any solution to mounting one that doesn't involve poking a couple of holes in my bumper? I already hate the way it makes the car look buck-toothed, but there's nothing I can do about that. I'd rather do it with no damage though, if I can.
Update: The manual choke is now installed! I had to use one of the intake bolts for the mounting bracket, but it seems to be holding and it makes all the difference in the world in cold-starting. It looks a little dippy, but it's the only place I could get it to mount without getting in the way of the accelerator linkage. Man, this car runs smooth as silk right now. Thanks again for all the advice so far. You guys have been great.
