MY Sonett developed a miss. I drove it into the garage, replaced the spark plugs, set the points, Now it will not start.
I checked the firing order. 1 3 4 2. # 1 being carb side plug next to the firewall, 2 opposite side,
3 next to radiator by the carb, 4 next to the alternator. ( is this correct?)

There is a spark. I fitted a stroke light and turned the engine with a wrench on the pulley and it fires just before TDC.

There is fuel being injected in the carb. when I work the throttle. I even sprayed some " engine start" down the carb but nothing. The strange thing is that when I lifted the one valve cover and turned the engine # 1 inlet valve closed when the mark on the pulley was 90 degrees away from the pointer. I have never taken the distributor out or done any major engine work

I then moved each plug 90 degrees at a time until they had been in each spot.
nothing helped.

I am baffled, and reluctantly admit I need help
