Re: I'm pulling the engine/gearbox out - any tips? - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
The transmission/motor mount in the fire wall is easy to over look. It is accessed from inside the car. The mount frequently sticks. I had good luck by loosening the bolt from inside and running it almost all the way out. Then I tapped on it with a wood block or rubber hammer to loosen the motor mount. Other than a good supply of beer or aquavit, I can't think of any more tricky things.
By the way, what is the serial number? I am still looking for my old Sonett which was either 331 or 335. Old age is causing memory problems.
