Jayne, FYI each door actually has two locking mechanisms on the Sonett III, I'm not sure about the V-4's as I don't have one. There is an outer lock inwhich you must use the door key to lock/un-lock. And a separate inner lock, which locks/un-locks by sliding the small knob located on the door panel. Neither lock is connected to the other so it is possible to have the inner loock's knob in the locked possition as well as having the outer lock in the locked position. It is therefore possible for someone unfamilier with this feature to become frustrated trying to unlock either the passenger's side door or driver's not reallizing it is the inner lock which needs to be unlocked as well.
