Thanks for the info. I came up with 1.495" on the openings and 1.508" on the plugs so this should be plenty of crush. I just wasn't sure about the appropriate amount of oversize on the plug. I knocked that first one in a little farther to the edge of the chamfered area which is where it should be and it tightened up pretty good. I used a large washer of the correct thickness to control the depth and used a piece of 1.75" round Delren stock and hammer to to get the washer flush with the block. Thanks again
