Only a few days away from firing up my newly rebuilt engine I made a scary discovery. The baggy containing my block drain plugs also contained what looks like 2 large set screws( allen head), the same size and thread as the drain plugs. I have no memory of removing them and can't find any information in my books. My worst fear is that they are oil galley plugs that go behind the timing gear or much worse the flywheel, but I'm hoping they are just replacement plugs that the machinist gave me when I picked up the block and just don't remember. The threads and the heads of the drain plugs were in bad shape. Any oil galley plugs of that size in this engine?
