The C900 ignitions seem to do all kinds of odd things as they get older.
Sometimes very loose but still particular about certain positions. My '85
needs the original key to get in and out of the left position for reverse
lock, but I can use any saab key, my mailbox key, etc otherwise. Perhaps you
used a different (older/more worn?) key when parking the car and it wasn't
quite in the right spot when you pulled it out? Then the spare and not as
worn key had a problem at first?
