Check Engine Light [saabnet.com]

It's been a long time and I don't remember the proper way to post but...
I have a very early edition 9-3, (1999 model year but 1998 car) For the past year and a half the check engine light has been on. There are two error codes, one says too lean, the other says too rich. According to the dealer the car is totally within specs. They said they've seen this problem on a few model runs and that the Saab solution is a redundant ground on the computer. I didn't think that sounded like a reasonable fix, but I had to try it because of the stupid WA state emission tests that don't test emission but only take a readout from the computer. The redundant ground didn't work, there is still nothing that can be found wrong with my car and the lites still on.
Also the lite doesn't stay on. It's on for a day, a week or a month or more, then it shuts itself off for awhile. When it's on there is an error code, but I thought they had to be reset to shut off.
Anyone ever have this sort of a problem with a solution ? ================ To send a response, just hit reply! The Saab Network - On the Internet Since 1988 http://www.saabnet.com/
