9000S oil pressure loss [saabnet.com]
Posted by Paul Hill - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em (more from Paul Hill - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3?em) on Sun, 17 Oct 2004 00:44:51

The oil light on my 1990 9000S came on. No flickering, no only on when I go
round corners, just solid on. I checked the oil level and it is fine, so I'm
assuming there is no pressure. Given the design of the oil pump (concentric
with the crank shaft) it's difficult to see how it could loose its drive. Is
that possible? The only other thing I can think of is that the pick up tube
has dropped off the pump. Any tips or experiences would be appreciated before
I start tearing the engine to pieces.

Thanks,
