1999 Saab 9-5

SAAB FOR 1999 - The newest member of the Saab family is an entirely new premium performance
sedan: the Saab 9-5, currently on sale in Europe and scheduled to debut as a 1999 model in the
North American market in the spring of 1998. Sporting world-class safety and performance
technologies, advanced aircraft-inspired ergonomics and a long list of comfort and convenience
features, the spacious new Saab 9-5 sets new standards for luxury sedans. The Saab 9-5 will be
powered by a range of newly-developed turbocharged multi-valve engines, including a 170-hp 2.3L
Light Pressure Turbo engine and the world's first asymmetric Turbo 3.0L V6, which develops 200hp
and an impressive 229 Ib.-ft. of torque at only 2,100 rpm. Instantly recognizable as a Saab, the
9-5 retains classic design elements such as the trademark Saab grille, sloping beltline, and
clamshell hood. The sleekest production Saab ever, the 9-5's sophisticated profile has a drag
coefficient of only 0.29.
