In the back of a used carlot here in the bootheel of Missouri there is a Saab 900S 2-door hatchback (non-turbo), it's a 16-valve, auto, with 136,000 miles, no radio and the car dealer says it needs a new fuel pump. He's asking $1,000 (US). The engine looks clean, the front seats have some stiching that has begun to unravel, and the rear part of the headliner is starting to droop. Question: Is he asking too much and how much does a fuel pump cost and how hard is it to replace it?
