If it's noisy replace it, otherwise, if it just feels like something is 'flapping around' then you may get away with re-tightening the hub nut. Good luck. > > Will need to do something with the exhaust soon - > > Same here. Just sorting out pricing on a 'sports' system now + a few HP :-)))) Its actually costing out at less than a SAAB backbox and centre section. So next time in needs welding back on I'll just replace it. > >been > > welded together a bit now, but I don't want anything too > > obvious as the car looks standard, albeit a little lower and > > there's no need for it to draw attention to itself. I probably can't either - thats what overdraft facilities are for (actually, I haven't done that for 3 months now and it feels good :-) > I'm concentrating on the door lever first How's that going? > > > > > > > > > > A 9-3 SE would be a compromise, its (a little) better than > > > > the gm900, more acceptable but... I drove a Honda Civic 1.8 vtec (169 bhp) one time last year, maybe it had been driven over a few too many kerb stones, but it was a nightmare, pulling to one side as you put on the power and then quite violently jerking back to the other side as you changed gear! It was also quite noisy and un-refined. > >The gm900 has the same issues and > > IMO gives less direct feedback and a softer ride. > > I like direct feedback myself. The tiny tin can gives plenty of feedback, mostly its of the nature 'I'm going over here now because there's a rut in the road - OK?' <snip> > > <snip> > > > > > > > Take it from the practical side, do some research on the crash tests > > of > > > > > each, resale value, taxes, insurance. > > > > > > > > > > See which one comes up with the most positives. > > > > > > > > We've been doing that - trouble is we score differently ;-) > > > > > > How can facts score differently? > > > You've got to use a reliable source! > > > > Yeah, but we also by agreement put in subjective measures > > and often score those differently :-( > > Oh-h-h I see. Try it just without the subjective, what do you come up with? > Then, one by one, add in the subjective. Objectively the 900 wins hands down on; fitness for purpose flexibility, purchase price. Fuel & insurance are OK depending on model. What worries her is what I might start wanting to do with the car once I've got it ;-) Of course the tiny Japanese tin can that we've also got at the moment scores even better in many respects, but I don't want to die in it (OK immotive I know) and neither of us like it. My wife has only driven it twice in 3+ years, whilst I've put 45,000+ miles on its clock. > > > > > > > > > > > > Whats a guy to do? > > > > > > > > > > It's all about compromise, huh? > > > > > For each of you. > > > > > > > > That would be the hard part, right. > > > > > > Depends who you are married to, right? > > > > As I said pretty _and_ the best. > > :-) > Anyway, we've agreed to look at a c900 for now as a stop- gap. When our cash flow improves and we are confident that it will stay that way then we will go for something newer, then I will get my 9000 back, we will sell the 900 and my wife will get the new (to us) car. Of course, by then I may have fallen in love with the 900 as well as the 9000 and we may need 3 cars ;-)
