2010 9-3 XWD, 6 speed auto trans, 53k miles
Wife called this afternoon because the 9-3 would not crank while she was out on the town with the 6mo old twins. When I arrived about an hour later the car started right up. When she got it home it started 5 times without any problem. I didn't get any codes from the OBDII reader.
Wife said that it threw the same message and warning lights that she got 1-1/2 years ago, but it's impossible to get any meaningful information from her when I ask her to describe it. She had a lot of warning lights and had a "Make Safe Stop" message. This doesn't make much since since the engine wasn't running. It may not even have said "Make Safe Stop" this time. When it happened 1-1/2 years ago I figured she has some ice buildup on the wheel sensor or bad contact since it was a cold Chicago winter. I've never seen the car throw any kind of errors when I drive it, nor did it occur this past winter.
I immediately thought CPS, but it doesn't look like the 9-3SS has the same issues with the CPS as the OG9-3 does. Any ideas what might be causing the no crank start?
This was supposed to be the replacement for my '99 9-3 with 228k miles when it finally died, but I made a mistake letting the wife drive one day. I can't get her back into her Camry.
