2009 audio flaky Posted by JimBlake [Email] (#141) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JimBlake) on Sat, 9 Sep 2017 04:44:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2009 SS with base audio (Bluetooth, XM, but single-disk CD player)
Sometimes the audio is just dead when starting the car. And I can't get it to screw up when I'm ready to test things.
I read it might be an early symptom of a weak battery. Measured voltage while cranking the starter and it drops to about 9.5 or 10 volts for a moment. That doesn't seem low to me?? But I cleaned & tightened the battery connections.
I've checked all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with the audio - all were good.
Removed head unit from dashbaord, R&R the wiring harness plugs to check those connections. All good.
My next plan is to swap batteries with my 2010 and see if the problem moves. It's a 4 year old AGM battery, so maybe that's it. Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks as always, this site has been a big help to me since all the way back to the 1989 900.
