Cause of failure unknown Posted by Sondeen [Email] (#796) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Sondeen) on Wed, 21 Nov 2018 22:44:51 In Reply to: Great to hear!, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 21 Nov 2018 13:32:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I noticed a few weeks back that the right rear of car was sagging slightly. I was thinking maybe the spring was just getting old, but the mechanic who recently replaced the computer gave the car a look over a saw the spring was broken. I have an appointment in another week to get it replaced and will be interested to take look at the broken spring to look for corrosion or other clues to the failure mode. The way the Saab Indy was sharing his knowledge of 9-3 rear spring particulars, failure is not so uncommon. We don’t tow with the car or load it up more than once a year for a vacation road trip, so 99% of the time the cargo area is lightly loaded if at all.
