Replaced LH Front Turnsignal Lamp Locking Ring.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 2 Mar 2019 13:25:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced the RH Front Locking Ring earlier this winter in response to intermittent turn-signal failure warnings. Luckily I bought two of the Locking Rings in anticipation the LH front turn signal would suffer a similar failure mode soon after - which it did.
The WIS says to remove the under car shield, and disconnect the wiring harness going to the washer reservoir pump. So I followed these instructions but now wonder why that is necessary?
Sure, I would have needed to remove the left and center screws securing the fascia to this shield, and the three screws securing the LH inner fender to the fascia, and 3 or 4 of the 6 expanding pins securing the top side of the fascia to the radiator shroud.
But why remove the lower shield? That is the part which is hardest to remove and re-install.
For the RH turn signal lamp and locking ring you can reach everything from the top side by removing only the air filter box.
