Weird noise isolated to ACC Posted by rodvt [Email] (#2470) [Profile/Gallery] (more from rodvt) on Thu, 12 Sep 2019 14:54:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi our 9-3 Aero S-S has just turned over 200k miles. What has been a not always present, faint whirring noise has become persistent and louder. This whirring noise appears to vary with revs. You hit the gas and the noise increases in volume and pitch, come off the gas and it subsides. For a long time I did not associate the noise with the ACC (Automatic Climate Control). My partner has finally begun to complain about the noise too. It was then that I experimented with turning of the ACC to better hear the noise she was complaining about. But the noise disappeared!
What could be causing this? Is it just a bad blower or is it this:

The blower motor regulator.
I have read the other posts and don't see this symptom, or part mentioned.
Thanks,
Rod
