Limp Mode and P0101 solved! Help with intercooler hose.

So I've been trying to track down an intermittent check engine light (code P0101) and limp mode for the last few months on my 2008 9-3 2.0T (118k miles). I was also getting a rough idle that settled down after start-up, but limp mode was getting to be more and more common. If I stopped and restarted, it would be fine in city driving, until I went back on the freeway. Replaced throttle body, checked and cleaned connections, cleaned MAF sensor, still nothing. Hoses looked fine initially until I saw a faint line in hose #2 in the attached diagram from the link. I reached down and could actually stick my fingers in through a 3 inch rip. I have it temporarily duct taped, cleared the engine light, and no more limp mode, and no more rough idle at start-up.
So now is my question...I have replacement hose on order, but I don't know how easy this is to replace. I can see one end of the connection from the top, but I can't seem to find the connection that goes to the intercooler. Do I have to remove the front bumper to get to this, or can I access this from the bottom? Part number is 12786560.
