2006 9-3 2.0T Sport Combi - Coolant Leak Question Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] (#22) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Randy Thatcher) on Fri, 20 Nov 2020 14:20:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 9-3 Combi had had a mystery coolant leak for years that I could never track down. Every few months I would get a Coolant warning on the SID, then I'd top up the tank. Repeat in a month or so. A dealer replaced the radiator 4 years ago or so. My indie shop had done dye tests and pressure tests. I just figured it's minor and I'd keep topping it up.
I just got the car out of storage for winter use and began going through issues. One was low coolant. I put over 3.0L of water in - way more than before. Usually it was ~500mL. I drove to get my kid from school and got a coolant low warning. Now there's water on the garage floor. I jacked up the car + jackstand (safety first!) to find the leak. The drip is coming from the plate in the picture. I couldn't get all the way under to see what's above this plate. Any idea what the leak could be? Pix is taken from right-hand side of the car facing towards the left...
Best,
Randy
