Hello,
Yes the door panels are pretty easy to remove. The outer piece of the door pull pops off. Sort of pry at the upper forward point and it will pop off and then you can remove the 2 30Torx screws. Then you pry the door panel out from the bottom. I use a plastic wedge to get the panel started. The clips are pretty sturdy.
I think the factory suspension is pretty adequate. It seems that the Bilsteins are too hard and the Koni's are also a bit stiffer than stock.
Heat wrap may be helpful. The biggest issue with the V6 engine is heat and lack of space for air to cool. I do apply heat wrap to the fuel injector harness, I have seen a few fail due to heat related high resistance in the harness. Which I have repaired by remaking the harness with fresh wire and pins in the connectors.
As far as the ECU I would find an extra. I am not sure if the v6 ECU can be cloned but if you get one from 08 like yours which I am guess is a front wheel drive car you can have it added with a Tech 2 when it is needed. If you have an all wheel drive car get that ECU for your year.
Being a 9-3 some of the little things I check out especially in the suspension are the front coil springs, the rear upper shock mounts, front subframe for rust were the exhaust goes near it on the rearward center section, and being a v6 the coolant expansion tank. Feel free to post any questions or issues that pop up. Good Luck, Bernie
